Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Brian Sipe was the Department Head for the Prosthetics Makeup team representing Legacy Effects.

The role began early in pre-production, where he worked through the fabrication shop and oversaw the prosthetics build with several thousand prosthetic pieces produced for not only the hero cast but also the background characters. He then followed the work to set and oversaw day to day production while also being a makeup artist for Drax (Dave Bautista), TaserFace (Chris Sullivan), and several others.

After the film's completion the makeup and hair teams went on to campaign for the awards, resulting in a Guild (706) nomination (5 films of 2017), and making the short list for the Oscars (7 films of 2017).

Brian wrote an article for “The Artisan”, which is published by the Local IA 706. He chronicled as much as he could the “behind the scenes” of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which you can read by clicking here.

Below can also be found the Oscars (Academy Award) Submission book, the Makeup Artist Magazine article, and additional time-lapse making of videos and photos.

Besides all of the technicians and artists back at Legacy Effects, I would like to thank all of these folks for an amazing time. This film was a big one for me, and we all rose to the occasion and brought our “A” Game.
